In the fast-paced fashion and clothing industry, the client sought to launch a new, trendy unisex apparel line. The core challenge in the unisex fashion sector is creating an identity that feels universally appealing without becoming visually or linguistically bland. We needed a brand name that carried a strong, edgy attitude while remaining entirely inclusive and gender-neutral. Furthermore, choosing a sharp, authoritative name to stand out in the trendy fashion market meant the visual identity had to carefully counterbalance that intensity to ensure the brand remained approachable, wearable, and stylish. Striking this delicate equilibrium between a powerful linguistic presence and a balanced aesthetic was critical to the brand's success.
Solutions
We strategically engineered the name "Merculus," creatively drawing inspiration from the Roman God Mercury. This distinctive name inherently signals a dynamic, shining spirit, perfectly aligning with the brand's mission to add passion and bold personality to the wearer's wardrobe. To visually ground this sharp, high-energy name, we designed a thoughtfully balanced identity. We developed an abstract, perfectly symmetrical logo icon that expertly softens and balances the strong phonetics of the wordmark. Paired with a vibrant, energetic teal, this cohesive branding strategy successfully positions Merculus as a spirited, stylish, and highly desirable choice in the modern unisex fashion
